The New Luxury Wedding Trends for 2026
Written By Ellia Romeiro-Lourenco

A wedding is one of the most important days of someone's life. Countless hours and sleepless nights planning and preparing the biggest public declaration of love; why wouldn't it be luxurious? From Cabo to Positano, lace to silk, and The Four Seasons to the Ritz Carlton, regardless of the destination or the style of dress, luxury weddings have, and will always continue to follow trends to stay up to date in the current year.
2026 is all about personalization and singular identity. Many couples are ditching the generic and are really cracking down on personalizing the once traditional day. This lead on personalization is changing the wedding scene as it negates the standard wedding timeline of the event (seated dinner followed by dancing and other festivities,) and is being replaced with food as a visual design. Where there is a less generic meal plan, now being replaced by elaborate examples of wealth in sculptural food form. Cocktail-Style parties have many couples caring more about the presentation of the food for it is a performance on its own. By starting this new tradition of deeply interpersonal wedding planning we are seeing an increase in an environment that is routinely filled with love and gratitude. These trends are exploding into something much more meaningful for couples, as opposed to a fixed menu and venue-space, now there is a connection between personalization and presentation. With a more interpersonal wedding aesthetic, brides and grooms alike are more embedded into the design and party aspect of their weddings than ever before.

This is also the year where we ditch the gaudy and dreaded bridesmaid dress. With it being a tradition within the wedding community that the bridesmaids need to all be wearing matching dresses, many luxury weddings are throwing away all 27 dresses and treating their bridesmaids like fashion editorials- and get this- bridesmaids dresses are now being chosen by members of the bridal party. It Image by Kindred Launchmetrics Spotlight (Hera), Misha has become an amalgamation of each person's individual style, but with a high-end mix-and-match silhouette that all still mirror one another, brides are instructing their bridal parties to pick dresses that cater to their desires as well as what makes them feel the most confident. But making sure that they remain cohesive without being a carbon copy. As for the bride herself, bridal wardrobes have expanded beyond a singular dress, and have amassed into many outfit changes through the night. Social Media influencer Becca Bloom set a prime example for the future of luxury destination weddings. Her wedding in Villa Balbiano on Lake Como, was a modern-day fairytale dream. With garments fit for a princess Becca had many outfit changes throughout the evening, from an Oscar De La Renta runway gown, to a vintage Becca Bloom’s Lake Como Wedding Chanel couture dress from 2003, Bloom did not shy away from making her outfits as extravagant as her destination was. From a ceremony gown to cocktail minis, delicate draping techniques and bespoke designer overlays, brides are showcasing their fashion forward mentalities by treating their special day like it's a red carpet.

Destination weddings are captivating the luxury wedding experience of 2026. With multiday excursions and private venues, destination weddings are gaining even more attention than they have been in years. Some of the places to watch this year include Lake Como, Italy, The French Riviera, Bali, Indonesia, and The Caribbean Islands. Entertainment is imperative at any event, at many luxury weddings, couples are hiring entertainment that does not solely exist for weddings and private parties. Choosing performers who they listen to daily. With acclaimed artists like Rihanna who headlined a lavish private wedding in Jamnagar, Gujarat, for Anant Ambani, the son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant. These are just a few of the luxurious destinations to tie the knot, for each of these places offer a once in a lifetime experience for couples and guests alike, as they will not only get to witness a promise of eternal love, but they will be immersed in the rich cultures that surround them.

Furthermore this influx in personal experiences is also trickling into the guest list. It is on trend in 2026 to keep the guest list small but meaningful with a surplus in intimate experiences as opposed to inviting 300+ people. This further allows for a quiet luxury approach to a wedding that has not typically been seen in the past, as it is a way to include only those closest to the bride and groom to be a part of their big day. Who wouldn't want their closest friends and family to bear witness to their lavish wedding? With the increase of personalization and extravagant destinations, the luxury wedding trends in 2026 are rewriting the rules, in terms of hosting a traditional wedding.
