Dolce & Gabbana kicked off their Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collection with a sea of monochromatic black and denim outfits. Each garment was tailored to accentuate the features of the models who had the opportunity to wear them. The company wanted to embody its Sicilian roots that have been planted into every facet of this collection, from the raw intense emotion that is conveyed through each of the silhouettes and outfits.
Dolce & Gabbana have blended the worlds of fashion and pop culture with the cameo of their Spring/Summer 2026 runway being the background of a scene in the new The Devil Wears Prada 2. The film features the runway being still a prominent focal point, showcasing the companies take on sensuality through clothing.

A key similarity between Dolce & Gabbana’s appearance in The Devil Wears Prada 2 and their Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show is the theme of intimacy with a sensual vibe that trickles through their designs. On this runway there is a constant theme of black lace, whether it be an accoutrement or lingerie that is visible below a sheer robe or dress. There is an overarching repetition of a sort of sultry energy, that further speaks to the brand’s emotional connection to this collection. Although many of the lace garments appear to have the same floral pattern intertwined in the fabric, each piece is uniquely its own. With some of the lace being draped at the waistline to create a cascaded effect to the silhouette. And many other examples of the entire dress following the organic curves of the lace to accent the neckline and curve of the bust.

Although a large portion of the show focused on an emotional feeling of passion and intensity. There were also many outfits that were all about structure and precision as opposed to flowy and free. Dolce & Gabbana stepped over the line in the sand that is dividing menswear and womenswear, and featured many of their models wearing outfits that are typically for the male form. A prime example of this incredible crossover is through the art of tailored suits. Many of the models walked the runway in 3-piece well fitted suits with overexaggerated collars on the suits as well as the white dress shirt that they are accompanied with. These hyperbolized aspects of each of these garments are conveying a feeling of rigidity and strength. Much like a boulder that is immovable. These garments are stating that they are not going anywhere.

Nearing the finale of the show, models pace the runway still abiding to the monochromatic theme however their Sicilian roots are peeking through with their use of floral prints, leather, knitwear and fur. Every single outfit to grace the stage are quintessentially Italian at their core and follow the idea of a strong brand identity.
