written by mariana lora

Haute Couture; the peak of the fashion industry. Representing the highest level of artistry and mastership, Paris Haute Couture 2026 delivered the kind of spectacle only couture can offer. Across the week's collections, designers embraced meticulous craftsmanship, dramatic silhouettes and intricate embellishment while presenting gowns destined for the world's biggest red carpets, these were the standout evening dresses of the season.

Daniel Roseberry once again delivered one of couture week's defining moments. The collection's 12th look; EVA, was a dramatic bustier gown with 13,800 silk feathers across 28 shades, embroidered with iridescent absinth green peacock-crystal details. The skirt is a tall layer of  black tulle underskirt that adds depth and drama. Accessories include bird-head earrings and nude satin sandals making for a surreal, elegant and glamorous look. Its strong silhouette is unmistakably Schiaparelli and makes it a natural choice for the top 5 best looks of the week. Vogue and Wallpaper both cited the collection among the week's strongest presentations, praising Roseberry's ability to combine fantasy with wearability. (Vogue)

Rahul Mishra's Devi: The Eternal Muse collection produced several remarkable evening gowns, but the embroidered gold gown inspired by ancient Indian temple carvings stood apart. Thousands of hours of hand embroidery created extraordinary texture while maintaining a graceful silhouette. The pleated draped skirt adds movement and depth and he states that traditional necklaces are not used accessories but rather engineered into the very garment so to create decoration but also structural architecture. The dress demonstrated why Mishra has become one of the leading names in contemporary couture and would translate beautifully to major international red carpets.

  1. Ellie Saab

Few designers understand red carpet glamour better than Elie Saab, and his Spring 2026 couture collection reflected exactly that. A shimmering champagne gown covered in crystal embroidery and finished with a dramatic cape combined timeless elegance with modern proportions. Harper's Bazaar included Saab's collection among the week's strongest celebrity ready presentations thanks to its refined eveningwear and impeccable tailoring.

Iris van Herpen once again challenged conventional couture with her sculptural Sonic Starquakes collection. One translucent evening gown appeared to float around the body through intricate layered construction inspired by plasma and astrophysics. While more avant garde than traditional eveningwear, the piece would be perfectly suited for fashion forward celebrities attending events such as the Met Gala.

5. Chanel

Presented by the Chanel creation studio before Matthieu Blazy's debut, the house delivered unique sophistication. One of the collection's standout looks paired a sleek scarlet column gown with an oversized ivory feathered cape that enveloped the shoulders and head, creating a striking contrast between simplicity and dramatic couture craftsmanship. The look reflected the collection's central theme of birds and freedom, with feathers symbolizing lightness and transformation while showcasing Chanel's exceptional savoir faire. Presented against the show's whimsical forest inspired set, the sculptural silhouette became one of the runway's most memorable editorial moments.
