Berluti Spring/Summer 2026: The Return Of True Luxury Menswear
written by felix shentaler

Berluti’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation reaffirms what it means to make true luxury menswear. In the opulent setting of the Simone and Cino Del Duca Foundation, Berluti constructs a world where craftsmanship, emotion, and artistic lineage converge. They transformed the space into an immersive, historic journey through its métiers, revealing not only how its creations are made, but why they endure. This season, that narrative deepens through a poetic dialogue with The Little Prince, a story whose reflections on loyalty, essentiality, and the invisible threads that bind people and objects echo Berluti’s own values.
Visitors are welcomed by a sensory overture: the scent of wax, rhythm of footsteps, and a large installation of a shoe heel. The moment is intimate, almost secretive, and it recalls the line from Saint‑Exupéry’s tale, “I shall know a sound of footsteps that will be different from all the others…” This emotional resonance continues in the Salon Monceau, where the Maison juxtaposes movement and fleeting silhouettes with the quotation, “It is only with the heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.” The message becomes a manifesto for the season: elegance is not merely worn, it is lived. Berluti uses these ideas to emphasize the individuality of its craftsmanship—each pair of shoes shaped by hand, each patina coaxed into life through hours of meticulous work.

Berluti also revisits its iconic pieces with renewed sensitivity. The Forestière jacket, already a symbol of refined utility, now carries an embroidered narcissus that appears to grow from its pocket. The Galet Bloom shoe interprets the arum lily through sculptural curves and an exceptional patina, demonstrating how the Maison continues to push the boundaries of leather artistry. Even the Lorenzo loafer, typically crafted in kangaroo leather, is reimagined in buffalo leather and suede, proving that restraint in product offering has allowed Berluti to explore its essentials with greater depth.

Leather goods have long been the heartbeat of Berluti’s savoir‑faire. Just as painters build their canvases through layered strokes, artisans reveal the richness of Venezia leather through subtle gradations of transparency and depth. Bags such as the Un Jour, Luti, Un Jour de Poche, and Toujours evoke the shifting light of a garden from dawn to dusk, each piece becoming a portable landscape. Smaller leather goods, some adorned with illustrations inspired by Saint‑Exupéry’s preparatory sketches, extend the poetic thread while showcasing the Maison’s mastery of laser etching, their signature aquarelle patinas, and precise stitching techniques.

The presentation also honours the enduring relationship between Berluti and its creations. In the Cordoue salon, an artisan works among restored pieces—objects softened by time, shaped by their owners’ habits, and cherished enough to be repaired rather than replaced. Berluti’s promoted ability to restore 97 percent of its products is the ultimate expression of luxury: longevity, continuity and the quiet pride of owning something that will accompany you for a lifetime.
With their Spring/Summer 2027 exhibition, Berluti demonstrates that true luxury menswear is defined by devotion to craft and the ability to create objects that resonate long after the season ends. Berluti moves meaningfully in a world that often moves too quickly, reminding us that the most essential things are felt before they are seen.
